Key Tax Aspects of Employee Share Schemes – Set-up, Planning & Effect Masterclass
Live Webinars – Presented by Peter Adams, 3 Hours of CPD
Instant Access to Session 1 Recording
Session 2: Wednesday, 14 October 2026, 12:30PM (AEDT)
Employee share schemes can look straightforward until you get to the taxing point, the CGT treatment, the FBT interaction and whether the start-up concessions actually apply.
This masterclass works through how Division 83A applies in practice, including taxed-upfront and deferred-taxing schemes, the CGT consequences on disposal, the special rules for eligible start-up companies and the ATO reporting obligations that come with them. The focus is on giving accountants a clear framework for identifying the tax treatment and the issues that need to be considered before advising on an ESS arrangement.
This session provides 3 hours of CPD.

Employee versus Contractor Masterclass
Live Webinars – Presented by Karen Vella, 3 Hours of CPD
Session 1: Thursday, 5 November 2026, 12:30 PM (AEDT)
Session 2: Thursday, 12 November 2026, 12:30 PM (AEDT)
Engaging a worker as a contractor doesn’t necessarily mean a business can avoid the obligations that come with employing staff. Getting the classification wrong can leave clients facing significant unexpected costs.
The ATO continues to scrutinise employee versus contractor arrangements, making it important for accountants to understand where the distinction lies and the risks involved.
This masterclass examines the factors that determine whether a worker is an employee or contractor, the consequences of getting it wrong, and the ATO’s guidance in TR 2023/4 and PCG 2023/2. We’ll also examine recent case law, including the landmark 2022 High Court decisions, to help you identify potential risks and better advise your clients.
This masterclass provides 3 Hours of CPD.

EET Elections & Business Sales: The CGT Consequences of Fixing a Company as a Beneficiary Webinar
Live Webinar – Presented by Peter Johnson, 1 Hour of CPD
12:00 PM, Tuesday, 24 November 2026 (AEDT)
Many of your clients will be asking about the EET election this year. It’s an attractive option: part of the income goes to a company at 25%, and the trust stays exactly as it is.
The question you’ll need to answer is what happens when that client sells the business. One of the biggest advantages of trading through a trust has always been how the capital gain on goodwill can be distributed. With an EET election in place, part of that gain has to go to the company, unless the election is revoked and 47% is paid in the year of revocation.
In this one-hour webinar, I’ll model a sale through a trust with an EET election, with part of the gain going to mum, part to dad and part to the company. We’ll compare the outcomes and work out which of the three paths is right for your client.
